Kennesaw is a city in the centre of Cobb County, Georgia and is located 20 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.
The city used to be called Big Shanty and it was the site of a major battle during the American Civil War - the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain. Located south of town, the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is full of many historic areas and war artifacts.
Apart from rich history and culture, the close proximity of the Kennesaw Mountain offers a great choice of outdoor activities like hiking and climbing.
